Bastia Carnival 2025: Colorful Ocean-Themed Festivities

The Bastia Carnival 2025 promises to be an unforgettable event, bringing together people of all ages for a day of festivities and celebrations. Scheduled for Sunday, March 9th, this annual carnival is a cherished tradition for the residents of Bastia and attracts numerous visitors each year.
The day will begin at 10 AM on Piazza San Niculà (Place Saint Nicolas), where the Children’s Village will be set up. The youngest attendees can enjoy face painting, colouring workshops, and various creative activities, providing a playful immersion into the carnival atmosphere.
At 2 PM, a live broadcast will be aired on NRJ Corse, adding a media touch to the event. Then, at 2:30 PM, the grand carnival parade will kick off from the Palace of Justice. This year’s theme, “The Ocean,” promises a vibrant procession with marine creatures and friendly monsters parading down to Piazza San Niculà.
Several free transportation options will be available to facilitate access to the event. Urban network buses will be free from 12 PM to 7 PM, and trains will also be free for people in costumes. Additionally, free parking will be provided for those who prefer to come by car.
To ensure the event’s smooth running, traffic restrictions will be in place on several streets in the city centre from Friday, March 7th, at 7 AM to Sunday, March 9th, at 8 PM.
